Stu’s Web Wednesday: Maximilian’s The Online Warrior

On the 15th of November, Ulitmate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 drops to 360 and PS3 and, weither you think it's a cash in or just bad timing, I don't care. I'm hyped. The frantic nature of the MvC series plays into my fighting game joy perfectly and I've always been a Capcom fighter guy since the Street Fighter days when I played Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers on my Sega Genesis constantly (Fei Long FTW). While I'm not a pro gamer in my fighters, I'm no slouch either. At least, I feel I'm better than some people on this site. Not saying names. However, I enjoy seeing pro-circuit players in MvC3 matches. The matches can be engrossing, exciting, and hopefully balanced. But who among them would actually have the ability to teach us all how to play as well as the pro. We turn to an online warrior: Maximilian.

I could say a lot, but let Maximilian say it for me:

As mentioned, Maximilian does the occational FPS breakdown, but he became famous for his breakdowns of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, like this one of breaking down online play into IRL competition play:

Naratives are all well and good, but the real push came from when he took the characters out of the game and into his living room with the "Assist Me" series. Literaly. Seeing Dr. Doom became his roommate, Amaterasu became his dog and, now, is dealing with a cursed Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 pre-release disk in which everyone else pops out of too. Like, say, Phoenix Wright:

(Personal note: Super hyped for Iron Fist on one hand and Rocket Raccoon on the other)

Besides, where else but in this universe can you get Dr. Doom and Wesker battle rapping against each other:

You can find Maximilian and The Online Warrior on their official site and by subscribing to their YouTube page. Maximilian also has his own personal twitter, which you should follow or you'll get Pringles.
